Christmas in July

My sister, Emily makes vintage Christmas ornaments that are based on Fairy Tales. I have long admired her handiwork and love hearing about which Fairy Tale she is working on. For my birthday she surprised me with Hansel and Gretel--hand stitched right down to their sweet little sequenced shoe buckles.

This summer our family visited the U.S. --Utah and California for the first time since we moved to Korea eighteen months ago. It was a whirlwind trip. I felt like from the moment we landed someone had started a stopwatch on me and said, "Go!" We spent everyday trying to see and do things that we can't in Korea.

Jim had his own stopwatch going. Three days after we landed in the States, he put on his lucky Chicago White Sox shirt and ran a marathon.
